Eligibility Criteria

September Start Students Eligibility Criteria
The health and dental plan was approved by student referendum in 2003, and, as a result, it is now a requirement of your enrolment at Douglas College through your membership in the Students' Union. The plan provides protection and security for eligible students who would not otherwise be able to afford necessary dental or health treatments as well as minimizing the effects of injury and ailments.

The cost of the plan is included in your tuition fees provided you meet the eligibility enrollment criteria:
1. You are a fee paying member of the Douglas students' Union
2. you are enrolled in 9 credits or more
3. are residing in Canada
4. are under the age of 70
Part Time Students
In the fall semester, for a limited period of time, from September 19 to September 30, part-time students enrolled in fewer than 9 credits may enroll in the plan provided they submit the completed opt-in form and pay the applicable fee. To submit your enrolment request please contact the DSU Office.

January Start Students (Optional Opt-in)
In the winter semester, for a limited period of time, from January 18 to January 31, all students attending the College for the first time in the Winter semester may elect to enroll in the plan, regardless of the number of credits, provided they submit the completed opt-in form and pay the applicable fee. To submit your enrolment request please please contact the DSU Office.

Please note: All BC residents must be enrolled in MSP (Medical Services Plan). For more information please visit the BC Ministy of Health webpage.
