myCanadaPlan International Student Emergency Medical Insurance plan provides students with unlimited, 24/7 access to medical care in the event of an emergent medical occurrence, accident, or illness while studying in Canada at a Designated Learning Institution (DLI). The coverage is available to students who possess a valid study permit and where the DLI is a participating institution in the myCanadaPlan program. myCanadaPlan International Student Emergency Medical Plan is underwritten and administered by insurers, MSH International and iA Financial, who are our insuring partners.
myCanadaPlan is designed to provide a standard and comprehensive schedule of benefits that include emergent medical care, non-emergency care and repatriation within the emergency plan details including a transportation to bedside benefit for family members.
myCanadaPlan offers a unique position in the international student space providing standalone Repatriation insurance to participating institutions whose international students have been granted provincial health coverage while studying in Canada under their respective DLI to further protect against catastrophic events causing injury or death. Repatriation to an international student’s Country of Origin is not within the scope of a provincial health care plan in Canada.
