Eligibility

mylegalplan was built to address student concerns around the anxieties and financial pressures of pursuing legal action. mylegalplan is designed to ensure that they have a resource available to them that provides them with considerable legal coverage, a national legal network and a easily accessible legal hub.

The mylegalplan provides legal resources and protection for all Full-time students that have paid the SANQC membership fee.

The mylegalplan program was approved by student referendum and as a result is provided to you as part of your enrolment at NorQuest College, through your membership in the Students' Association. mylegalplan was built to address student concerns around the anxieties and financial pressures of pursuing legal action. mylegalplan is designed to ensure that students have a resource available to them that provides them with considerable legal coverage, a national legal network and a easily accessible legal hub. The cost of the plans is included in your institutional fees provided you meet the eligibility enrolment criteria, which is:

1) you are a fee-paying student of NorQuest College,
2) you are in an applicable program,
3) you meet the full-time or part-time criteria for your program, and
4) you are residing in Canada.


Coverage Period

Eligible students will receive 12 months of coverage starting with the first day of the month in which their opt-out deadline occurs, if you are assessed the mylegalplan fee you are eligible. For example, eligible students with an opt-out deadline in September receive coverage begins September 1st and ending the following August 31st, and for eligible students starting in October, coverage begins October 1st and ends the following September 30th. The anniversary of when you joined will be your “enrolment anniversary”. On your enrolment anniversary is when you plan restarts, if you wish to opt-out you need to complete an opt-out each year prior the opt-deadline that applies to your enrolment anniversary. 

Blackout Period: There is blackout for new students. If you are a new student, you can access the service the first day of the month after the month become eligible. If you have any question about your eligibility or when your access starts, please contact the Students Association at Norquest College students.association@norquest.ca or 780-644-6250. Registrations attempted prior to a student's eligibility date will be unsuccessful.
