Online and Mobile Claims
If you have receipts for eligible expenses, there are a couple of options to get reimbursed. The online claims process is the quickest and easiest way to get your money back for the portion that is covered by the plan. To know the portion covered by the plan, please visit Plan Details.
Online Claims
The online claims process is the quickest and easiest way to get reimbursed. Green Shield Canada provides an online experience through GSC everywhere. GSC everywhere is an online tool that provides you access to your group benefits plan. It is important to register on GSC everywhere once your plan is active. For new students, there are up to 45 days from the start date of your term for the enrollment process to be completed.
Through GSC everywhere you can submit claims, check balances, investigate claim status and history, and set up Direct Deposit of claim payments by completing the Banking information. Once this has been completed you will be able to submit online claims and you will be notified by e-mail when your claim has been processed.
Registering with GSC everywhere:
- Step 1: Open your Internet browser and go to gsceverywhere.ca/register
- Step 2: Register Your Account
- Enter your school code with your student ID number. Begins with your school's three-letter code DSU, followed by your student ID number, and ends in -00. Example, DSU111222333-00
- Enter your date of birth, and click next
- Step 3: Two- Factor Authentication, Check "Yes, send me an authentication code by email" if you wish to receive a verification code every time you sign on or select "Skip for now" to bypass
- Step 4: Username, Password and email
- Step 5: Direct Deposit. Get paid faster by signing up for direct deposit
- Step 6: Security Questions and Terms and Conditions
All plan members must get a Registration Key. A Registration Key is a one-time issued number from GSC which confirms the identity of the individual. This Registration Key can be obtained 3 ways:
- By completing the online request form Here
- By calling GSC at 1-888-711-1119
- On an Explanation of Benefits statement from a recent paper claim
Please note: You have 12 months from the date the eligible expense is incurred to submit online claims to Green Shield Canada for consideration under your student plan.
Mobile Claims
If you prefer access to your benefits plan through your mobile, you can download and install the app on your android or apple device.
Don't forget to register To access the app, you need to be registered for GSC everywhere.

Manual Claim Forms
To submit a paper claim form, you need to download and complete the form. Then, attach the paper claim form, the original receipts, and other documents to support your claim. You must mail the package to Green Shield Canada. Remember to keep a copy of all documents mailed for your records.
- Health Claim Form: If your claim is related to Health services included in the plan such as prescription drugs, ambulance services, paramedical, medical equipment, or vision expenses, please download and complete the Health Claim Form
- Dental Claim Form: If your claim is related to Dental services included in the plan, please download, and complete the Dental Claim Form
The following information is required on the claim form:
- Green Shield Canada ID Number: Your GSC ID number begins with your school's three-letter code, followed by your student ID number, and ends in -00.
Example: DSU123456789-00
- Surname: Your Last Name (as on file with Douglas College)
- First Name: Your First Name (as on file with Douglas College)
- Address, City & Province: Your Current mailing address
- Email Address: Your current email address
- Phone Number: Your current phone number
- Company Name: Ryerson Students' Union

Pay-Direct Claims
Pay direct allows service providers to directly bill Green Shield Canada for eligible expenses. Direct billing is dependent on each service provider’s billing practices.
To access direct billing, students must show their benefits card at the provider's office and just pay the portion that is not covered by the plan. If you do not have your Benefits Card, you must complete the myBenefits Card Registration Form.
