When accessing mobile and online claims, or submitting a paper claim form, please use the information below to complete the required sections of the form:

Direct Billing for International Plan

You are not required to use the clinics listed below, however the following clinics are set up to bill certain (and in some cases all) of your eligible medical expenses directly to Global Excel.

If you get issued a medical bill and/or have to pay for a clinic visit, then before you leave the clinic ask for a copy of the medical.

International Claims

Submission of a Claim for after September 1, 2020


On September 1, 2020, The StFXSU International Medical Plan will be with a new insurance carrier, Industrial Alliance.

International students will be emailed their medical card to be used when visiting a doctor at a clinic or hospital to have eligible expenses direct billed when applicable.

All other claims can be submitted with the accompanying bill/receipt with a filled out claim form.

Submission of a Claim for prior to August 31, 2020


If you were enrolled in the StFXSU International Medical Plan for the benefit year of September 1, 2019 to August 31, 2020, please contact Global Excel to confirm if you have any outstanding claims from this benefit year.

Policy Information

When accessing the Health and/or Dental claim form please use the below information as a guide to complete the required sections of the form:
  • Plan Number: 175181
  • Division Number: Not Applicable Leave Blank

  • Employee Identification Number: Your Student ID
  • Employee Name & Address: Your Name & Current Mailing Address
You are required to submit original copies of your claim form, receipts and doctor's referral (if required) when sending in your claim to the insurance carrier. Remember to always keep copies for your records.

Please note: You have 15 months from the date the eligible expense is incurred to submit claims to Canada Life for consideration under your student plan.

International Medical Plan
Students enrolled on the International Medical Plan are emailed their policy details directly to their student email accounts. Please review this information once your receive it. Any questions or discrepancies with this information should be reported to the Benefits Plan Office immediately.

Pay-direct claims

Pay-direct claims allow for direct billing of eligible costs between your pharmacy and/or dental office and the insurance company. Pharmacy claims are processed immediately so that students are not out of pocket the full expense at the time of purchase. Dental claims are processed based the individual dental office's billing practices. These claims are accessed with the myBenefits Card.

International Medical Plan
Students enrolled on the International Medical Plan will be able to access direct billing at certain health centers and clinics. A list of these providers will be available soon.

GroupNet

Effective September 2018, Canada Life is providing a new online experience through a new Groupnet*. To take advantage of the new GroupNet, visit https://my.canadalife.com/sign-in. If you were registered under the old GroupNet, your information has been transferred and can be accessed through the new GroupNet service.

Through GroupNet you can submit claims, check balances, investigate claim status and history, and setup Direct Deposit of claim payments by completing the eDetails section. Once you’ve set up your account, you will then be notified by e-mail when a claim has been processed and that claim details are available for viewing online.

When registering for GroupNet you will need to provide:

Health Claim Form

To submit a manual claim, complete an insurance Health Claim Form, attach the original receipts and documents, and mail to the insurer. Remember to keep a copy of all original documents for your records.
